Honor Killings and domestic violence claimed 45 women lives in the month of September, 2011 in Sindh.


45 women killed under the allegation of Honor Killings (karo Kari) in one month of September 2011 in Sindh province of Pakistan, Including 3 double murders (man and women killed together) 7 men were also killed under Karo Kari claim.
According to study conducted by women right cell of Research and Development for Human Resources (RDHR) Sindh Honor killings claimed 21 women lives in month September, 15 were killed in Domestic violence, while 9 women killings reason remains mystery.
Most of Karo Kari cases were reported in District Qambar Shahdadkot, where 4 women were killed under KaroKari allegation. 3 women killed in Jacobabad District, 2 each in Ghotki, Kandhkot, Shikarpur, Larkana and Kherpur Districts, while in one each woman killed in Nawabshah, Sukkur, Kashmor and Tando Muhammad Khan districts.
Incuding 3 double murders, 7 men killed under the allegation of Karo Kari, two men were killed in Jacobabd District, while one each man killed in Qambad Shahdadkot, Sukkur, Kherpur, Kashmor and Tando Muhammad Khan districts.
Domestic violence claimed 15 lives of women, 5 each in Karachi and Kandhkot districts, while one each in Jacobabad, Tando Allahyar, Nawabshah, Sukkur, Jamshoro, Kherpur and Mirpur Khas Districts. While 9 women killed by unidentified persons, their death reasons remained mystery…
